One thing I would add is that we don’t need to buy things in order to practice zero-waste travel. We all probably have plastic forks, spoons, baggies, etc. somewhere in our homes that we can use rather than purchasing new. I’ve been tempted to buy specific bamboo utensils and reusable ziptop bags, but I’ve survived for many years since I had those initial thoughts just by using what I already had available. I wash and reuse the utensils and bags and once those no longer have a useful life, then perhaps I’ll switch, but in the meantime, purchasing new just to replace something else is still creating waste.
